Borrowing Policy:

The patron must present his/her own library card. Residents of Pulaski County may apply for a free library card. Nonresidents pay a fee, which may change annually, for a Pulaski County Public Library card.

We do not allow other people the use of your library card. You are responsible for all damage, loss and overdue charges on materials charged to your card.

The cost for replacing a lost card is $5.00.

Pulaski County Public Library and the Medaryville Branch have reciprocal borrowing agreement with some other area libraries. To obtain a reciprocal borrowers library card you must present your home library card.

Lost Material Information:

If a patron loses or cannot find library materials, the patron must pay the replacement cost plus a $2.00 processing fee for each item. Once the replacement cost has been paid, the money cannot be refunded if the materials are later found and returned.

Reserves:

Reserves for library materials, with the exception of videos and DVD’s will be accepted in person or by phone. The patron next on the reserve list will be notified by phone. Materials will be held for one (1) week.

Loan Period:

All materials are loaned for two weeks, except entertainment videos. The videos are due back the following working day. There is a limit of five (5) music cassettes and CD’s with a loan period of two-weeks. All materials may be renewed, (if there are not any reserves on the title), with the exception of videos and CD-ROM’s. There is a limit of one (1) CD-ROM loaned to a patron for a two week period. There is a fine of $1.00 if they are not returned by the date due.

Books:

Books may be borrowed for a two-week period. If late, there is a fine of .05 cents per day per item. Books can be renewed by phone or in person, if there are no reserves on the title.

Fines:

ALL MATERIALS: 0.05 per day per item, with the exception of videos. These fines include days closed.

Audio Visual Items:

You must have an adult library card to check out videos, DVD’s, music cassettes and CD’s, and CD-ROM’s. Monday – Thursday, patrons may check out two (2) videos, which are due back the following working day. Friday and Saturday patrons may check out four (4) videos, which are due back on the following working day. If they are late, there will be a fine of $2.00 per day, per item. No videos are to be put in the book drop. The fee is .50 cents per item.

Copies and Printouts:

All printouts and photocopies in black and white cost .10 cents per page. Full color pages cost .25 per page. Copies on photo paper cost $1.00 per page.

Computers:

Computers are filtered to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act. All patrons must sign a policy agreement form. Children under the age of 18 must also have their parents sign the agreement form. Patrons are limited to ½ hour per visit. However, the patron may use the computer for a longer period of time if no other patrons are waiting for a computer.
